Once the last white/brown rat spawn in, focus ALL your attention on the brown rat, since he's the only one who can really hurt you from a distance. With the brown rat dead, the white/black rat will have a hard time hurting you. After he spawns in, keep the black rat away and kill the white rat. Pushing the black rat makes him gain MP for that turn, so make sure you carefully count the distance between him and you. His debuff makes you take additional damage if you get hurt by the other rats. As long as you aren't 1 - to - 1 with the black rat, he can't actually hurt you (but dear god does he hurt if he catches up). When he does, your sram is more than likely going to die a quick and painful death so there's no sense trying to protect him. You should at least have the brown rat killed before the black rat spawns in. I kept reducing it's MP and pushing it away so it couldn't do a lot of damage. As for the white rat, it can only attack if you're linear or right next to it. I tried to keep the Sram close to the brown rat so he would use lethal attack/push him into traps. His attacks are SUPER long-ranged, he unbewitches himself every turn, and he can take your MP. During the first wave, I prioritized killing the brown rat first. I had a well-rounded mix of damage and MP reduction.

Mind you this was with the cyclic power modifier, so I don't know what positive/negative effects other mods would have on the fightįirst, my set-up was barbakle, treadfast belt/amulet and a guten tak's bow. I had a lot of trouble as well (as an enutrof), but after some trial-and-error I figured out a sound strategy to beat the rats.
